One wide or tall image — panoramas and tall infographics split best

One picture, a whole grid

Instagram profile grids and seamless carousels are just one image, cut carefully. This tool does the cutting in your browser: for a 3 × 3 grid it crops the centre of your picture to the grid's 3:4 shape, slices it into nine 3:4 tiles — the size Instagram now uses for profile-grid posts — and, crucially, numbers the tiles in posting order: post tile 01 first (it lands bottom-right) and the picture assembles itself as you go. The carousel preset slices a panorama into three 4:5 panels that swipe seamlessly, and custom mode splits any image into an even rows × columns grid for printing or puzzles.

How to use it

  1. Add your image — wide panoramas for carousels, anything reasonably large for grids.
  2. Pick the layout. The preview shows every tile with its posting number.
  3. Split, then download the ZIP (tiles named in posting order) or individual tiles.
  4. Post 01 first, then 02, and so on. For a grid, delete nothing mid-sequence — the picture only assembles when all nine are up.

Sizing notes

Grid tiles come out at the largest 3:4 crop your image allows — feed it at least 1080 × 1440 for full-quality posts. The crop is centred: if your subject sits at an edge it may be cut, so check the preview numbers against the picture before downloading.

Frequently asked questions

Why does posting start at the bottom-right tile?
Instagram fills your profile grid newest-first, left to right, top to bottom. The last photo you post becomes the top-left. To end with the picture reading correctly, you post its bottom-right tile first and the top-left last — the tiles here are numbered in exactly that posting order, so just post 01, 02, 03…
What size are Instagram grid tiles now?
Profile grids display posts at a 3:4 ratio (1080 × 1350 px is the standard upload size). This tool cuts 3:4 tiles so the assembled grid has no unexpected cropping.
Can I split into more than 9 tiles?
Yes — custom mode goes to 10 × 10 (100 tiles) with an even split of the whole image, keeping the image's own proportions per tile.
Is my image uploaded?
No. Slicing and zipping happen in your browser; the ZIP is built on your device.
