Turn a flat picture into a scalable vector
SVG files scale to any size without going blurry, which is why logos, icons, decals and laser-cut designs live in vector form. This tool traces your PNG or JPG in the browser: it posterises the picture into flat colour regions and redraws each region as smooth vector paths, using the open-source ImageTracer library. Photographs trace into a stylised, poster-like illustration; logos, icons, signatures and line art trace almost perfectly. Cricut and Silhouette crafters: the black & white mode produces the clean single-colour silhouette a cutting machine wants.
How to use it
- Drop a PNG, JPG or WebP image — high contrast and flat colours trace best.
- Pick colour mode for an illustrated look, or black & white for a stencil / cutting-machine file.
- Fewer colours = simpler, cleaner paths. More colours = closer to the original, more nodes.
- Convert, check the preview, and download the SVG.
Honest limits
Tracing is not magic recovery of a lost vector file: gradients become bands of flat colour, and fine photo detail becomes shapes. If your image was exported from a vector original, asking the designer for the .svg/.ai file will always beat any tracer — including this one.
